I bought this shirt at a demonstration in summer 1997 in Guatemala City, just months after the end of the 36 years´civil war. Together with a couple of thousand Indigenas we demonstrated against the amnesty the government had enacted for the death squards of the regime. The shirt shows the logo of the Grupo de Apoyo Mutuo (http://www.gam.org.gt) I was in contact at that time, and the question „Donde estan? (Where are they?) on the back of the shirt, referring to the 200.000 who were killed or had disappeared during the war.
